Rybury Camp/Tan Hill/The Chalkpit
Tan Hill, along with the neighbouring Milk Hill, is the highest point in Wiltshire. The views from the top are breathtaking - looking across to the Cotswolds and Mendips in the northwest and southwest, respectively, across the Vale of Pewsey to Salisbury Plain in the south, along the escarpment to the east and up to Silbury Hill, Avebury and the Marlborough Downs to the north.
From All Cannings, walk up to Tan Hill either via Cannings Cross, to the north of All Cannings, first up to Rybury Camp and then across to Tan Hill, or from Allington up past the Chalkpit. The Wansdyke passes just to the north of the top of the hill, which can then take you onto Walkers Hill, Knap Hill or West Woods to the east, or west to Morgan's Hill.
